The impact of Alabama forfeits on all-time standings

This 'Bama Beauty® hopes the Tide can keep their victories

Florida State is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid vacating victories in their academic scandal. The motivation is obvious, to keep Bobby Bowden in the race against Joe Paterno. Bowden claims to not care, but we know better. (Maybe he needs to put on a show because he knows the fix is in at F$U.)

Contrast that with the reaction of Nick Saban to Alabama forfeiting 21 victories in a less egregious scandal...

Saban may not care about the forfeits, but the Tide faithful might, as this impacts their place on the all-time victories list. This may explain why Alabama is considering an appeal.

Interestingly, just as Joe Paterno is one win ahead of Bobby Bowden before the forfeits, Penn State is one win ahead of Alabama before the forfeits...
