For the third consecutive year, every Big Ten men’s basketball conference regular-season and tournament game will be nationally televised. The conference’s media agreements result in more than 100 games appearing nationally on CBS Sports, ESPN, ESPN2, or the Big Ten Network in the 2009-10 season.
Big Ten men’s basketball will be broadcast nationally every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the conference season. ESPN will broadcast its first game of the Big Ten season on Dec. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2 from Williams Arena with NCAA Tournament qualifier Minnesota hosting National Invitation Tournament Champion Penn State.
Beginning with conference play, the Big Ten will have one game on ESPN each Tuesday at either 7 p.m. or 9 p.m. ET as part of Super Tuesday. A second conference game will usually appear on the Big Ten Network that night. The Big Ten will continue action on Wednesday nights with Big Ten Super Wednesday — a doubleheader on the Big Ten Network beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. ESPN or ESPN2 will televise at least one game each Thursday. CBS Sports, ESPN, ESPN2, and the Big Ten Network will combine to televise up to five games in each of the 10 weekends of the conference season. CBS Sports will air eight conference games, including wildcards on the final three weekends of the season. An ESPN platform will air games the final seven weekends of the season, while the Big Ten Network will air the remaining contests.
