Panic time for Penn State rushing attack?

Nittany Nation is in a near meltdown over the lack of rushing offense against Akron. The Blue Röyster Cult was hoping for more than 61 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries by their champion.

The last time Penn State played Akron (2006), Tony Hunt rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. (Sound familiar?) Hunt went on to have eight games of 130+ rushing yards and finished the season with 1,386 yards.

We're not predicting such a dramatic turnaround for the Penn State running game, just cautioning folks that it's not time to panic...at least not yet!

[Hats off to Happy Hour Valley for reminding us of Hunt's 2006 season during their entry in this week's Blue White Roundtable!]
