Penn State football: Boise State would visit Happy Valley

We're STILL pissed at Penn State Athletic Tim Curley and Associate Athletic Director for Football Administration Fran Ganter for scheduling a 2011 game with Indiana State, which is one of the worst teams in all of Division I football. The Sycamores are 2-52 since 2005. (Not a typo, two wins and fifty-two losses.)

We'll forgive Curley and Ganter if they act boldly to grab a good game that's there for the taking...

Several high-profile programs have turned down a chance to play a home game against Boise State in 2011, WAC commissioner Karl Benson said Tuesday.

Benson isn't sure of the exact number of schools that have said no, but figures it is close to 10. The Broncos aren't asking for any games in Boise in return, he said.
Realistically, there's almost no chance Penn State would be willing to open with Boise State and then Alabama, even with both games at home, so replacing Indiana State is probably a non-starter.

PSU has an open date on September 24th so maybe we could add Boise State then.

2012 is more likely, when Alabama rotates off the schedule and Penn State will be without a marquee non-con game.

The need to beef up the 2011-12 schedules is even more acute when you consider that we won't play Michigan either year.
