Micha Hancock has an impressive resume. The senior setter from Edmond (Okla.) Memorial High School and the Oklahoma Peak Performance Volleyball Club was a 2010-11 Under Armour Girls High School First Team All-America selection and the 2009 and 2010 Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year.

Hancock (5-11, 158) played for the U.S. National Youth Olympic Team in 2010, which won the silver medal at the Youth Olympic tournament in Singapore. She was also a member of the U.S. Women's Junior National A2 Team that finished second at the High Performance International Championship.

Micha signed with Tulsa in Novermber, so as to play a year with her sister, Kelsey, who was completing her junior season. However, everything changed when Tulsa head coach Ed Allen resigned in January to take the head coaching job at Alabama.

We contacted Micha's club coach, Edgar Miraku, earlier this week. Miraku told us...
"Micha has requested a release from the National Letter of Intent she signed with Tulsa in order to join Penn State volleyball program. She has been promised that she will be released at a later time. The Tulsa and Penn State compliance departments have been in communication in the last day or so, finalizing the process that Tulsa will follow."
Things have now been settled, according to a press release from the Oklahoma Peak Performance Volleyball Club...
Micha Hancock will be joining four time National Champions Nitttany Lions and will be attending Penn State University this coming 2011-12 season. Our whole OP2 organization is extremely proud of Micha and wishes her all the best on her new challenges. Micha currently plays on the 18 Smack team.
Welcome, Micha, we look forward to seeing you in Blue & White!
