Donghia said the Big Ten has not yet released the conference schedule but "nothing precludes a team from making two straight trips to Rec Hall." He added that 2011-12 will be the start of a new two-year scheduling cycle which will include new Big Ten member Nebraska.

So the rumors about Iowa at Penn State in 2012 are just that — rumors.

We also asked Donghia whether Penn State would be competing in the Southern Scuffle or the Midlands next season.

Pat replied, "We thought we were done with the schedule, but the prospect of the National Wrestling Coaches Association's new National Duals format has everyone scrambling."

The Scuffle has been moved to The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the wake of North Carolina-Greensboro dropping its wrestling program.

The historic Midlands Wrestling Championship is hosted by Northwestern.

According to UT-Chattanooga, six squads who finished in the top-25 at the 2011 NCAA Championships have committed to next season's Southern Scuffle: No. 2 Cornell, No. 7 Minnesota, No. 19 Missouri, No. 21 Oregon State, No. 23 Virginia, and No. 25 Indiana.

Pat was very modest when we praised the highlight video shown at this year's Wrestling Banquet (embedded below). Pat said, "Zach Peterson in our video department is an editing whiz. He took my storyboard and really made it come alive. I can't thank Zach enough."

Pat also suggested that Penn State fans check out the recently released season-ending Wrestling notes.
