Hall of Fame coach diagnosed with Alzheimer's

Pat Summitt, the legendary Hall of Fame coach who has led the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team to eight NCAA Championships, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Pat Summitt became worried after months erratic behavior. She was diagnosed with early onset dementia, Alheimer's type, at the famed Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Summitt's treatment includes medication and mental activities, such as reading and doing puzzles at night before going to sleep.

Summitt plans to coach at least through this season. She said that her grandmother, "Granny Head," had severe dementia.
