Penn State basketball hoping to add Georgia Tech transfer

Georgia Tech basketball player Brian Oliver has decided to transfer rather than play for first-year coach Brian Gregory.

Oliver, who is from Delaware, also cited a desire to be closer to home. We're pretty sure State College is closer to Delaware than is Atlanta!

Penn State had to scramble when Ed DeChellis unexpectedly resigned as Men's Basketball coach two weeks ago.

It appears Tim Curley made a good hire in Boston University coach and Philadelphia native Pat Chambers...

Penn State women finish second in USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championships

Last month Army knocked off defending Champion Penn State, 32-29, to win the USA Rugby 2011 Women's Division I National Championship. This was the 15 players-per-side version of the game.

Yesterday the two schools had a rematch in Sevens, unfortunately with a similar result...

Penn State competing in USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championships this weekend

Rugby has traditionally been a 15-man game, but that changed dramatically in 2009 when a 7-man version (imaginatively named "Sevens") was approved for the 2016 Olympics.

The likely core of Team USA's 2016 squad will be on display this weekend at the USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championships...
