The various Penn State message boards are in full meltdown, but the Clips staff is very happy with this hire.

At the very least we implore fans to give O'Brien a fair trial. One cannot judge this hire for at least three years.

And consider this...
  • Rip Engle, former Brown University coach: 104-48-4 at Penn State, inducted into College Football Hall of Fame in 1973
  • Joe Paterno, Brown University (Class of 1950): 409–136–3 at Penn State, inducted into College Football Hall of Fame in 2007
  • Bill O'Brien, Brown University (Class of 1993): 0-0-0 at Penn State
